Sore arm

Went to the travelers clinic yesterday.  Time for vaccinations and all that for our trip to Africa.  Now my arm is very sore, Can't baby it though.  Well, I wish I could, and then maybe someone would feel sorry for me.  Hahahaha Maybe by this weekend I'll share some recipes here.  I want to do some more recipe scrap pages.  I love doing them.  One thing I need to figure out how to do it to make zip files of things.  Maybe on my weekend i will have time to do that.  Now it's popcorn time and some reading.

Happy New Year one day late

 

Only a day late huh?  Already spending way too long on computer tonight.  I made some pork & sauerkraut yesterday for New Years.  German tradition.  I would give you the recipe, but it's just pork chops and sauerkraut.  How simple can that be huh?  I cooked it in the crockpot.

A little over 2 months until I  leave for Africa.  Tomorrow i'm going into Anchorage to for the innoculations that I will need.  Marlaria med are optional, but seeing the mosquitoes are out all year and March is pretty much the end of the dry season, I think I will opt for take the meds to prevent it should I get bit.
I will try to keep up to date on what is happening.

Was going to work on something

Well shoot.  I was going to work on a recipe scrap page, but my internet is not cooperating tonight with me.  So.....since I have to get up so darn early I better go to bed.  I'll see what I can do when i get home from work tomorrow afternoon.  good thing son John made dinner tonight.  I'll not have to cook after work tomorrow.  What a good son he is.  Now if I can only get him to clean up after himself.
Went out to eat tonight at Evangelo's.  Not quite as good as it used to be.

Only the lonely

 

Do not ask.  It just popped into my head and i wrote it down. Only the Lonely.  Isn't that a song or something?  I think it is. I've got recipes to share and things to do but I'm too tired tonight to do anything but re-figure out everything here and there.  Now it's time for sleep.  Its cold outside, baby it's cold outside.

It's Friday

I just got finished eating some of the Broccoli, Beef Stir fy that I made. Hmm wonder if I should make some popcorn tonight?  Should I or should I not?
I finished getting all the clover out of my one flower bed.  Been meaning to do that for years. Finally it's done.  Can I keep it that way now?  That is the question.
This summer in Alaksa is proving to be a cool one for us gardeners.  So as a result of all the cool, rainy weather so early in the season, the gardens do not do well.  This makes me sad.

It's been one year

It has been a year since Michael was killed.  What a year.  Fighting to right what was wrong, working on getting the Dr. to pay for what he has done.  To own up.  Lies and more lies.  The battle is not over yet.  I feel helpless up here.  I so do wish I could help more, but I don't really know what.

100 Days of holiday cookies

Been awhile huh? I forgot about this place.

See how I am. I am so forgetful. I have not been here for a year or so. Had some hot weather & I was able to play in my pool. Had so much fun I want a bigger one now. Gardening wasn't so hot again this year. Now it's getting fall time. Summer is gone for us. I'll try to remember this place in the future and figure out what I want to do here. Hmmmmm.

This Darn Cold

Well I just can't believe this. I tried several time to put one little picture into here and each time I did this it put about 15 of the same no matter what I did!! Go figure. Why in the world did it do that? I think I will just click on edit html and do it that way instead of using the other way.

I have a nasty cough and cold it seems. I hope I get better in a day or so. I can't stand this. I hardly ever get colds or anything. ugh.

It has been raining up here in Alaska most of the summer and fall. I can't even remember when I saw the sun last.

Did some planting seeds today

Very nice day today. It got up to 50 degrees F. out front of my house today and the sun shone all day long. It's still close to 50, but will be going down. It would be so nice if it did not freeze tonight, but I'm sure it will.

Went to town today, then came home and had something to eat and then went to work planting seeds in little pots. I hope to get more planted tomorrow. Changed all the lights on my grow lights and actually put a few of my roses outside for the day. I'm sure they could use the fresh air. Now I'm going through my emails and getting ready to settle down for the evening to watch tv/crochet/read or whatever.

Feb. 5, 2008....Warmed up a bit, but still cold!

Hello, it has been, let's see...........6 months since I have been here. I guess I just have too many blogs and stuff. I really should decide which I like the best and get rid of the others.

It is actually above zero right now. Not much, but it is sure a bunch better than more than 20 below zero. Brrrrr. I was getting mighty tired of that one. I am now watching HOUSE on tv. I really like that show.

I've been thinking of planting. Months away yet. I potted up the strawberry babies and repotted the mother strawberry plant. I hope they all survive. We have had more than 20 below for days now. I hope my apple trees that I planted last year make it. I will find out this spring. I also have scads of raspberries in the freezer and I'm gonna have to find a use for most of them to make room for this years crop. Same as for rhubarb.

Lazy Rainy Day. Friday Aug. 3, 2007

I just made this this morning for my Sugar Sisters assignment. It's awfully cute.

Today is a rainy day and I should be going out into my greenhouses to work,but I have to clip my birds' claws. She doesn't like it, so it is a major job.

I am also going to make some rhubarb sticky rolls today. Hopefully anyways. Only I don't have the hot roll mix, nor do I have my home made hot roll mix, so I'll just mix up some sweet roll dough and use that instead.

Rather cold out.

Help. I need to get working on my crochet project for this month. Not much time left for this month is there.

It has gotten cold again. sub-zero temps again. Down to minus 15 below this morning. Up to around 19 above F. and now so far is is about 5 below. Bound to get colder by morning. We have not had any snow this month yet. But boy, last month out of 31 days in Jan. there was only 4 days when it did NOT snow.

Time to go. tomorrow is my day off, but I have lots of running around to do. Ugh.

Hmmm, last time was Dec. 21st.

Well, it has been awhile hasn't it? After a couple weeks of around 20 to 35 below zero temps. it has warmed up to about 25 degrees above zero now. Feels llike spring compared to what it was.
Yippee.... today was my Friday at work. Two days off and then Sunday I go to work, and seeing as Monday is a holiday, I have that day off. My goodness I had to work on Christmas day as well as New Years day. Bout time I get a holiday off. Well, Time to close down and get ready to relax and either read, or do some crocheting.

Almost Christmas now

I have to be carefull here or I loose my post. Geesh. I've been sick for a couple days. Got to work yesterday and I could barely do my job. So around 8:30 a.m. I decided to go home. Slept most of the day and got really sick in the afternoon. Today I stayed home as well. Still not feeling well at all.
I need to get more shopping done and I hope that by tomorrow I'll feel good enough to go. I just don't have any energy or strength. Strange.

It is snowing outside and has been doing so for a couple days. I love looking at the snow. Love watching it fall.

Happy Thanksgiving a week late

Had a fairly good Thanksgiving day even though I was busy all day and did not have much time to relax. That is the way it is I guess.
I can't think of much to say so I'll just say goodnight.
